The GGC Care Pantry provides food and other necessities to current students who are experiencing the stress of financial constraints. Information on nutrition, healthy food choices, and support resources are available upon request. Your visit will be confidential.

Container Gardens/Planters available for pickup next week: April 15th-19th
A student is working on a community service project to address a community health issue for their biology course. They need 25 students to sign up to receive a container garden to begin growing their own garden of vegetables.
A survey will be sent to participants afterwards, it is a requirement for their project.

The purpose of the project:
Addressing increased health risk for people experiencing food insecurity that relate to higher consumption of processed foods and lack of access to fresh veggies. This issue will be addressed by setting up 25 container gardens that will grow leafy greens and green onions, that will be distributed at the GGC Care Pantry. These container gardens will provide fresh veggies which can help reduce the risk of some cancers, diabetes, and heart disease (all which have higher rates in food insecure communities).
These planters can be harvested multiple times and will come w/ pamphlets on how to grow the vegetables and harvest them.
